Malaysia’s leading data center operator, AIMS Asia Group (AIMS), has been selected as the outsourcing hub for Taiwan’s Acer Inc. to consolidate its business applications serving its Asia-Pacific operations.
AIMS will host Acer’s regional supply chain management systems which will accelerate Acer Asia-Pacific’s operational effectiveness.
“We are pleased to be selected to support global market leaders such as Acer in addressing their regional IT outsourcing needs, with our well-developed infrastructure, more regional companies are considering Malaysia as their regional outsourcing hub,” said AIMS’ Chief Executive Officer, Chiew Kok Hin.
AIMS is one of the few data centers in Malaysia that provides a carrier-neutral environment to international carriers. With no preference to any specific telecommunication provider, AIMS has managed to attract over 200 carriers and service providers to place their network node within its data center.
The Acer Group has four brands under its roof -- Acer, Gateway, Packard Bell and eMachines. It ranks No. 2 for total PC shipments and No. 2 for notebooks in 2010.
