How important is the personal data privacy. Often we have no qualms giving our personal details to sign up for a new membership program, or to renew our subscription to a favorite paper. But the recent controversy surrounding the sale of 1.97 million customer records by Octopus Card in Hong Kong, and the public outcry following it, reminds us that data privacy is still a sensitive issue for government, politicians, businesses and the general public.
