Hong Kong, Finland renew agreement on ICT cooperation

Hong Kong and Finland recently renewed a collaboration agreement on information and communications technology (ICT) cooperation, particularly in the area of e-government, cloud computing, wireless technologies and creative industries.
The new memorandum of understanding was signed by the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Communications and Technology) Elizabeth Tse, and the Consul-General of Finland in Hong Kong and Macau Annikki Arponen, a report in the government website said.
"The MOU has established a mutually beneficial platform to drive ICT development in both places," Tse was quoted as saying in the report.
The agreement has placed special emphasis on areas of cooperation among businesses and academic institutions in the two countries.
Areas of common interest include: delivery of government services online, multimedia and software applications and products, electronic commerce, broadband networks and applications, Internet applications, wireless and mobile applications, digital broadcasting, cloud computing, IT manpower development.
