In view of its new unique status as a public hospital that is managed by the private sector, Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital needs to be very competitive and introduce healthcare technologies to support its its medical core systems. It selected the Hitachi NAS Platform and the Hitachi modular storage and software to be used in two major hospital systems -- hospital information systems (HIS) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
