SEOUL - South Korea's Ministry of Knowledge Economy announced in its web portal korea.net that the government will inject 1.2 trillion won into the sector in 2011.
The ministry said it has decided to incubate the software, semiconductor and system semiconductor sectors of Korea's IT industry and the government would allocate for the software sector "a 100 billion won-budget, four times higher than that of last year, and expand its human resources nurturing program to incubate highly skilled manpower."
"In order to develop the system semiconductor sector of the IT industry, the ministry will also support research and development and market penetration of related corporations, as well as human resources development," it said.
The ministry will further cooperate with related government organizations in order to develop IT-related sectors, including smart TVs, LED products and 3D technology-based industries, the website reported.
