A new wireless Internet infrastructure has improved passenger services at Haneda Airport’s new international terminal in Tokyo.
Covering nearly all areas of the terminal, which spans across more than 150,000 square meters, HP's wireless area network (WLAN) provide reliable, secure public wireless internet service in terminal lounges and departure zones. The enhanced wireless system also improved baggage handling and collection.
Haneda Airport is the world’s fifth busiest airport, servicing 18 domestic and foreign airlines with direct connections to 17 international cities and handling more than 60 million passengers each year.
HP said its HP MSM Access Points used in the facility allow each connection point to automatically establish the most optimal connection route. If any WLAN access point suffers a failure, an alternative access point is automatically found and the connection is instantly recovered.
"This minimizes network downtime, improves the stability of the wireless network and allows travelers to enjoy uninterrupted connectivity," it said.
