SEOUL -- To help Thais living in Korea submit complaints against the Korean government in their native language, a Thai-language version of the e-People website was launched recently by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
“We are going to actively publicize the e-People service through embassies in Korea and other centers so that more foreigners can take advantage of the online petition service. Also we plan to broaden this service in other languages,” a staff member from the ACCR was quoted as saying in Korea.net.
The e-People web service handles complaints, petitions and personal ideas for the Korean government. It integrates all public organizations in Korea, including 43 central government agencies, 244 local governments, and 144 Korean missions overseas. The system also deals with complaints against public-sector organizations and administrative systems.
There are currently more than 44,000 Thai citizens living in Korea. The e-People service is however available in six other languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Indonesian.
