Thailand pushes tourism through Facebook, Twitter campaigns

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) introduced new Twitter and Facebook campaigns, providing comprehensive Thailand travel information to the public. Visitors to TAT’s Twitter and Facebook pages can get up-to-date information about Thailand events, activities, news, and more and even view photos of beautiful Thailand scenery, delicious Thai food, as well as other interesting photos. The Tourism Authority of Thailand hopes this social media presence will help inform more people about the travel opportunities in Thailand and increase tourism.
The internet has quickly become the most popular source for information, and with more than 1 billion people using social networking sites worldwide, TAT realized their opportunity to reach out to other countries. With a click of the mouse, visitors can gain information about what Thailand has to offer, including tropical beaches, Thai massage, medical tourism, wedding and honeymoon destinations, golf tourism, and shopping galore.
Those looking to visit Thailand will find a wide variety of resources on TAT’s social media pages, including external links that provide information about Thailand, videos, general Thailand news, events and more. Users can also leave comments or ask questions about Thailand, and on top of this, TAT’s new governor Suraphon Svetasreni says, “We want travelers to Thailand to be more actively involved into the shaping of our web content by updating our site with their own experiences and advices.”
