It deployed Web services to support diverse applications, including up-to-the minute emergency room patient data, a physician paging system, and data integration within electronic medical records (EMR).

With over 2 million cars, 11 million nonmotorized vehicles abd 18,000 buses, controlling traffic is a major challenge for Beijing authorities. In order to efficiently manage the planned road infrastructure Beijing developed an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). This case study looks at rational for chosing to work with Progress Software to solve this daunting challenge to connect the diverse systems used in managing the city's growing traffic challenge.
